Canon XA10 - Camera Review - Great Value Camcorder
Not long ago now I had the opportunity to use the Canon XA10 camcorder on a series of corporate videos that were used internally to help promote new and upcoming products for team members working in a retail sector.
The camera was supplied to me to shoot a range of talking heads style videos in various indoor locations using the available light which was rather testing. After a good slog at using the Canon XA10 I found it to be a very versatile and trustworthy camcorder.
I even went out and shot a short action video on it just to see how well it would perform under run and gun style no budget filmmaking that I am so used to - it excelled beyond my expectations!
The Canon XA10 is basic on the outside with all the dials and buttons hidden within a touch screen on the cameras LCD. Everything on a prosumer level is hidden away in this camera, control over aperture, shutter, white balance and audio.
We do need to remember any camera in the world can offer you a range of quality and fancy knobs and dials - at the end of the day it's the people operating the camera that add that extra touch and flair to the images that can be created. Having said this though if you are an avid/budding filmmaker wanting a great first entry into film camera then look no further than the Canon XA10. It's just over the $2000 mark and great value for money.
Check out the below review on the Canon XA10 I recently featured on for my Apple Box video channel.
